‘Making Markets Work for Smallholder Farmers and Rural Producers’ - Bangladesh |
The Waterloo Foundation is proud to be a partner in a 5 year project which aims to develop poor people’s ability to access markets in Bangladesh. Working with local NGOs, the project seeks to assess current market failures and provide business and skills training to thousands of small-scale producers. Their average incomes are expected to rise significantly, and market services and transport links will be developed which should allow thousands of other new jobs to be created. |

‘Training new teacher-trainers’ – southern Sudan |
The Waterloo Foundation has provided a grant to allow teachers from southern Sudan to undertake an intensive one-year teacher training course based on the newly established primary school curriculum. Once completed, they will be able to train thousands of new teachers and therefore take the first step towards rebuilding an education system which was badly damaged by the recent conflict. |
